T, union feud over arbitrator?s award
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) states that a recent arbitrator?s award to retroactively grant wage increases totaling up to $88 million could place the public transportation organization in ?financial jeopardy?. The union representing the workers due to receive the back pay claims that the MBTA?s claims stem from a dispute with no legitimate basis. The union and the MBTA have filed dueling lawsuits over the arbitration award.
