Talks resume in Qantas dispute as airline gives free flights to people stranded by grounding
Qantas Airways and workers met for the first time since the airline grounded all of its flights last month. The two have been fighting over contract negotiations for the last few months, and the union staged rolling strikes. The airline grounded all flights on October 29 and initiated an employee lockout, stranding thousands of passengers across the world. A court ordered the airline to end the lockout and resume flights, and also stopped any strikes by the union. The two parties have to an agreement within 21 days or go to binding arbitration.
