TCAT employees reject latest contract offer
Union employees of Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit reportedly voted to reject the bus company's latest contract offer Sunday night, leaving many wondering if a strike is the next step. TCAT's 80-odd drivers, fuelers and mechanics are represented by United Auto Workers Local 2300. The contract rejection will send the parties back to the negotiation table, and leaves customers fearing the possibility of limited transportation, especially if you happened to have wrecked your car last week. Many are hopeful that a strike will not occur any time soon.
