Teamsters Halt Food Deliveries to Markets
During one of the busiest shopping weeks of the year, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters has instructed its drivers and warehouse workers to honor UFCW picket lines at grocery distribution centers in Southern California. More than 8,000 Teamsters at 10 distribution centers in Southern and Central California will take part in the strike. The three grocery chains involved in the dispute said the action will not hurt them as they have already stocked up for Thanksgiving and were hiring temporary replacements for the striking Teamsters.
