Teamsters Unit Rejects Coke Accord
Workers at sevel L.A. Coke bottling plants remain on strike after one of the four locals rejected ratification of a new contract. Though three of the four Teamsters locals agreed to end the 11-day strike against the company, the bottlers' local rejected the contract. In an act of solidarity, the striking workers decided that if the bottlers resume picket lines today, as they said they would, members of the other three locals will honor them and not return to work.
