Tech job meltdown slowing, group says
According to an industry report by a trade group formerly known as the American Electronics Association (AeA), the contraction of high-tech jobs may be coming to an end. The high-tech sector was hit hard by the economic recession, losing 540,000 jobs in 2002. However, the pace of layoffs seems to be slowing, as the AeA notes that this year's projected workforce erosion show a significant improvement from the 2002 numbers. As corporate spending on computer hardware and software increases, it is predicted that the high-tech industry will continue adding jobs.
