Tech workers are speaking out
More and more tech workers are speaking out about shady practices happening in their companies causing tensions to rise. Silicon Valley historian Margaret O'Mara says that “tech workers, like employees everywhere, are increasingly questioning the meaning of work in their lives.” Companies like Apple, Google, and Facebook have as of recent fired workers who they claim have leaked internal messaging or data, cracking down as an attempt to protect their reputations. Google whistleblower, Chelsea Glasson, warns tech workers that as they come forward “they should anticipate the ramifications.”
