Tentative agreement between Southwest Airlines and its’ flight attendants fails union executive board vote
The executive board of Transport Workers Union Local 556, the union that represents Southwest flight attendants, did not vote to pass agreements made with Southwest Airlines. The agreement did not receive the required two-thirds of votes from the union’s board. The agreement proposes to increase flight attendant pay rates. It also proposes to include boarding pay and to provide employee compensation for trips that are extended due to delays. The union and Southwest Airlines will continue to negotiate until an agreement is passed.
