Tesla sues Swedish Postal Service over boycott
Tesla workers have been on strike since late October in Sweden because the company has refused to collectively bargain with IF Metall, the union that represents Tesla employees. The union is seeking increased wages, improved employee pensions, and greater insurance coverage. Other workers in Sweden have boycotted Tesla to demonstrate support for Tesla workers, and eight unions in Sweden have announced that they participate in the boycott. A major union boycotting the company is the Swedish Union for Service and Communications Employees, which represents Swedish Postal Service workers. The Postal Service has refused to deliver Tesla license plates, and Tesla has filed legal action against the Swedish Transport Agency. A preliminary decision reached in a district court granted Tesla access to registration and license plates. The Swedish Transport Agency solely relies on the Swedish Postal Service for delivering goods, and the court decision ruled that the plates must be delivered in seven days or fines will be imposed.
