Tesla workers at factory in Buffalo, NY launch latest unionization drive at the company
On Tuesday, workers at a Tesla factory in Buffalo, New York launched a unionization campaign to demand better pay and benefits. As a company, Tesla has strongly resisted other union drives in the past and has been found guilty by the NLRB of violating labor laws with regards to the illegal firing of a worker involved with an organizing campaign and illegal threats. However, the workers in Buffalo are paid less than the national average and do not receive much sick time, and these grievances have prompted them to work with the Workers United union, which is affiliated with Service Employees International Union.
