Texas welfare workers quit in light of transgender child abuse directive
After Texas Attorney General confirmed that gender affirming medical care to minors constitutes child abuse under state law, Governor Greg Abbott issued a directive to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to investigate such instances. Since the issuance of the directive, an increasing number of child welfare workers in Texas are quitting. Over half a dozen employees in the state have either already resigned or are looking for new jobs.
