Phased retirement, in which older employees work fewer hours with more flexibility and less responsibility, is becoming a popular workplace trend. Many older workers are reluctant to completely leave the workplace due to financial reasons or simply because they enjoy their jobs. Employers benefit from reduced turnover and are able to retain experienced workers.
