The need to cover all angles abroad
An increased concern among corporate circles for traveling workers in the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks is already fading according to organization and security consultants, with companies once again leaving themselves and their employees at risk. Many companies are allowing their travel insurance policies to slip, or are failing to take full advantage of this important, if expensive, precaution---resulting in major lawsuits when employees are injured while traveling on company business, and find that they have no coverage. The failure by top management in most companies to attribute appropriate importance to the safety of traveling workers, and the frequent lack of clear departmental responsibility for such concerns, often lead to these oversights in which travel safety issues and workers fall through the cracks.
