The Workplace: Fear not Europe's migrants
As the European Union prepares to admit 10 additional countries, immigration policies are being debated and revised. Some believe that new migrants from Eastern Europe will provide workers for declining and aging populations. Studies have found that recent EU expansions did not result in a flood of immigrant workers. However, Austria and five other countries plan on restricting entry and most Western European countries have cultures that are suspicious and fearful of immigrants.
