These Companies Are Taking Election Day Off. But What If You Can’t?
In a recent trend, hundreds of companies are granting their employees time off to vote on November 8th. Notable companies like Spotify, Tinder, and TaskRabbit have pledged to give their employees the entire day off, while other businesses, like Wink, decided upon a late start date. State laws vary on the minimum time employees can legally take to vote. While Minnesota offers workers as much time as they need to vote, over a dozen states do not reqire employers to offer any time off at all for employees who wish to have a say in the election.
