Thousands attend downtown L.A. labor rally
Between 5,000 to 8,000 Los Angeles workers participated in a march on Saturday to show solidarity for workers in Wisconsin, as well as to stand up for their own rights. The group marched through the city, ending in Pershing Square, where labor leaders spoke about defending their rights. California has a $26 billion budget deficit, and workers say that they are willing to give concessions, but that they will be made through negotiation. The demonstrators included nurses, technicians, truckers, actors, teachers and others.
