Thousands Gather to Protest Bill in Ohio
Ohio workers are protesting a proposed bill that would eliminate almost all of their collective bargaining rights. The Senator who proposed the bill aid that its purpose was to give control back to local government, and that it was necessary to help balance an $11 billion budget. However, Democrats said that the bill did not save money or create jobs, and was just an attack on unions. Workers say that they do not understand why the senators are attacking them, pointing to wage cuts that have been taken in the last 9 years. The bill would also change rules on health care and pensions for workers.
