Thousands March In Dublin Demanding Irish Default, Election
Around 45,000 people demonstrated in Dublin against the European Union and International Monetary Fund bailout of the Irish economy, which comes with severe cuts. The cuts will hit minimum wage, public sector jobs, salaries pension and higher taxes. Many of the protesters decried the government's plan, saying that it would cause them to lose more people to other countries. The Irish Congress of Trade Unions, an umbrella group, said that they did not have any strikes planned to protest the measures.
