Thousands march in trade unions' anti-cuts demonstration
Thousands of workers protested in the United Kingdom on Saturday against the government and new austerity measures. The protests called on the government to end spending cuts, which they say disproportionately hurt ordinary workers. Some called for a general strike, and the Trades Union Congress said that it is talking to members about a coordinated action. Many European countries are staging protests against austerity on November 14.
