Times Co. Will Cut 190 Jobs in New York and Elsewhere
In response to sluggish gains in circulation and advertising and the rising cost of newsprint, the New York Times Company plans cut 130 jobs at its flagship newspaper and 60 others at the division that owns the Boston Globe. The job cuts will come in the form of voluntary layoffs, and will occur at various levels of the organization. The company is working with its union on details of the job cuts.
