Tipped Workers Push for Higher Minimum Wage in NY
Tipped Employees in NY are pushing to have the $5.75 minimum for hotel cleaners and $5 minimum for employees of the restaurant industry eliminated in favor of the state minimum wage of $8. A study conducted found that employees in the restaurant and hotel industries could be owed up $1 billion a year in foregone wages from minimum wage violations.
