To increase efficiency and flatten its organization, Gap expected to eliminate hundreds of global corporate jobs
In an attempt to flatten its organization and speed up decision making by removing layers of management, Gap has announced its plans to lay off hundreds of corporate employees. While there have been many layoffs at companies recently prompted by fears of a slowing economy, this has not been the motive behind the layoffs at Gap. This global workforce reduction and restructuring is hoped to make Gap more efficient, as employees say that style decisions have been slowed down for years by company bureaucracy.
