Toyota Exec: Doubts Co. Would Allow UAW To Organize In Plants
A Toyota executive said that he did not think that they would allow the United Auto Workers to hole organizing rallies in Toyota plants. The executive said that the workers make the decision on whether to unionize and that they consistently said no. He also questioned the UAW's picketing of Toyota dealerships, saying hat they have nothing to do with Toyota plants. The UAW has been picketing at dealerships in California to protest the company's move from a unionized plant to a non-unionized plant, a move the company says has nothing to do with the workers. The UAW has been protesting for three weeks at 52 dealerships.
