Transportation workers in Germany to go on fifty-hour strike, demanding pay raises to help combat inflation
Throughout March and April, transportation workers across Germany went on a 'megastrike' in protest of pay disputes. Now, the transport unions have called for a fifty-hour warning strike that will begin on Sunday and ground nearly the entire country's railroad system. The union is demanding pay increases that meet rising inflationary pressures as it is unsatisfied with the current pay offer. Labor negotiations between the EVG union and train operator Deutsche Bahn are expected to continue at the end of May.
