TREASURE ISLAND: NLRB finds stores' practices unfair
The Chicago regional office of the National Labor Relations Board has found Treasure Island grocery stores guilty of unfair labor practices. The store's owners launched a vicious anti-union campaign, threatening store closures unless the unions representing nearly 400 workers were decertified. The owners also unlawfully terminated the employees' participation in the union's health insurance and pension plan.
