Truckers Strike Four Shipping Companies at Southern California Ports
Tractor trailer drivers represented by the Teamsters union went on strike today. These drivers, who transport cargo between the Long Beach and Los Angeles ports, established picket lines by 6am. The truckers claim that the ports classify them as independent contractors so that they can deduct various expenses from their paychecks.
