Twitter-Bombing the Boss Looms as Worker Right Business Dreads
Employers are increasingly concerned about workers using Facebook and other social networking sites to air their complaints about their jobs, bosses, and working conditions. The NLRB is hearing a growing number of cases in which employees contend they were fired for such practices. Labor advocates claim the use of social media to discuss working conditions is protected under the National Labor Relations Act. Many companies do not have clear-cut guidelines and policy for social media, and the NLRB itself has been ruling on a case-by-case basis, without setting a clear policy-defining precedent.
