U.K. Public-Sector Unions Join Forces to Fight Cuts
British unions Unison and the Public and Commercial Services unions, which together represent over 1.5 million workers have pledged to work together to protest planned cuts by the government. the government is expected to announce plans to cut large amounts from the budget on October 20. The Trades Union Congress confederation will hold its annual conference next week, and the General Secretary said that they would fight against the cuts that would deprive people of services. The TUC is organizing a rally for October 19.
