U.S. Freight Railroads Reach Labor Accords With 60% of Workers
More freight railroad unions have reached agreements with the railroad companies. Four more unions have reached agreements, with 10 agreements covering 60% of the 132,000 workers now in place. The string of agreements comes after a presidential review board released its recommendations. The board aimed to stop a walkout that could cost up to $2 billion a day. Three unions remain in negotiations.
