U.S. Private Sector Adds 213,000 Workers in January
Economists had forecasted that the 225,000 jobs would be added in January, but the actual number fell short at only 213,000 new jobs added. As a result, the unemployment rate has held steady at 5.6%. In December, 253,000 new jobs were added, showing a considerably higher number than in January.
