U.S. Ramps up Pressure on Guatemala over Labor Rights
Guatemala now faces a $15 million dollar fine if they do not comply with the labor laws outlined by the U.S. The U.S. gave the country six months and additional extensions but workers? rights have not changed. The U.S. is also threatening to take away Guatemala?s tariff benefits if the country does not follow the enforcement plan.
