U.S. Refinery Strike Spreads to One-Fifth of National Capacity
Workers employed by U.S. refineries have now been on strike for the past four weeks. A total of 6,550 employees from over 15 plants are participating in the strike. The workers, who represented by the United Steelworkers Union, went on strike after reaching an impasse in negotiations. Refineries are currently operated by replacement workers, so the plants have been able to operate at a normal rate of production.
