U.S. Seeks Rehiring of Reporters Fired in Newspaper Labor Fight
In the latest development in an acrimonious labor dispute involving the Santa Barbara News-Press newspaper, the National Labor Relations Board has decided to prosecute the paper for violating labor laws when it fired eight reporters. Despite the paper's claim that the reporters were dismissed for "disloyalty and biased reporting," the NLRB concluded that the reporters' involvement with their union was at the root of the issue.
