U.S. Sues Bombardier After Mormon Fired
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has brought a lawsuit against Bombardier Aerospace Corp. on the behalf of an employee who complained of being discriminated against because of his religion. Michael Kolman, a salesman for the company, was fired after he complained about remarks made by company executives that he would not be able to entertain clients because as a Mormon he did not smoke or drink. A spokesman for Bombardier Aerospace, said that discrimination was not tolerated at the company, and that Kolman was fired because of poor job performance. Kolman is seeking about $800,000 in damages.
