UAW and Ford reach a tentative agreement
Ford and the United Auto Workers union have reached a tentative agreement after automotive workers at the Big 3 Automakers have been on strike for over a month. The proposed deal is a four-year contract and will provide workers with a 25% general wage increase, and an additional wage increase as a cost of living adjustment. Workers will also get increases in their pensions, and other employee benefits such as 401k plans will improve as well. The agreement will be sent to 57,000 unionized workers at Ford, and if they vote to approve the agreement, strike action will cease and employees will return to work. The tentative agreement will most likely serve as a framework for contract negotiations between the United Auto Workers union and General Motors and Stellantis, as negotiations are still ongoing for these automakers.
