General Motors has temporarily laid off 2,000 workers at a plant in Kansas, as the UAW targeted strike on a plant in Missouri results in supply shortages that stall operations at the Kansas factory. Ford has furloughed 600 workers in Michigan due to the same issue, as operations at specific factories will shut down due to supply shortages. The United Auto Workers union announced that workers affected by the temporary layoffs will be added to the strike fund payrolls, to ensure that these workers will have the necessary funds to support themselves and their families.
