Uber’s biggest employee problems are pay and pride, not sexism, says HR boss
Liane Hornsey, Uber’s new chief of human resources, stated that sexism and gender discrimination towards women are no more of a problem at Uber than anywhere else. Hornsey spent the last five months investigating Uber’s internal culture. Her findings dispute the notion that sexual harassment is a major issue at Uber, which had been based on claims made by female engineers employed by the company. Instead, Hornsey says that Uber most needs to address compensation issues, performance review procedures, and a feeling of low employee appreciation.
