UC reaches tentative labor deal with staff workers
The University of California has reached a tentative agreement which maintains pension benefits, but has employees contribute 1% more. The agreement, which will be taken to a vote later this week, will cover more than 14,000 employees. The agreement creates a two-tier retirement health benefits. The contract would cover four years and includes cost-of-living increases at a minimum of 11.5%. The contract covers technical employees, researchers, and health care professionals across 10 University of California campuses and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
