UK Border Force officers to strike at Heathrow airport
London Heathrow Airport will be affected by Border Force officers going on strike this week. Workers will strike for four days, over a dispute regarding working conditions. The Border Force officers work as passport control at terminals 2, 3, 4, and 5. The workers are represented by the Public and Commercial Services Union, and the union represents over three hundred officers. The union states that proposed changes at Heathrow could cut over two hundred officers. The UK Home Office division is planning on implementing a new workers roster system, and the division states that the system is already used at all other major ports in England, and it increases efficiency for travelers. The division also announced that it has contingency plans that will be implemented to reduce disruptions and maintain normal operations.
