UK postal workers continue strike action into the holiday season as Royal Mail has not met their demands
On Thursday, hundreds of thousands of UK postal workers with the Royal Mail went on strike and plan to strike throughout the holiday season. This strike action follows walkouts that occurred throughout August and September. The postal workers' demands for better pay and work conditions remain the same amidst the persistent high inflation that continues to exacerbate the cost of living in the UK. The Communications Workers Union has stated that this is one of the largest ongoing strikes of 2022, and they will continue to fight this assault on postal workers' pay and job terms. As a result, customers have been experiencing mail delays that are expected to persist, and this has hurt Royal Mail financially.
