Unemployed? Monster.com wants you to laugh
Online employment aid, Monster.com, whose job postings have fallen off during the recession, has launched a new ad campaign based on research that shows people want to laugh and be cheered up, despite and perhaps because of the state of the economy. The new ads show several works in rather humorous situations at work and ask viewers if they?re really happy with their job. Monster has also redesigned its website, with an eye to attracting both the unemployed and the currently employed. New features allow users to review duties and industry growth for any job, compare their own job with others in the field, or see how real people in their field have transitioned to a new field. Monster?s entire campaign is intended to be humorous. Asking themselves if the humor was appropriate in a business environment, Monster decided that ?employers are people too.?
