Unemployment benefits have been cut and the job market is not responding
25 states have ended their participation in pandemic-era unemployment programs and reimposed searching for a job an eligibility requirement and yet, job recovery has not been as rapid as experts believed. A new analysis showed that the 60% reduction in unemployment enrollment does not correspond with the 1.4 percentage point drop in adults with a job. Experts say more time and is needed before drawing conclusions about the impact of unemployment policies on the job market.
