A bill stalled in the Senate could provide unemployment insurance benefits for about 2 million Americans. The Speaker of the House, John Boehner, spoke about his ?serious concerns? regarding the implementation of the bill and cited a letter from the National Association of State Workforce Agencies. The letter addressed several contentious points of the bill, especially the prohibition of ?millionaires? from receiving the emergency extension benefits. The Secretary of Labor, Thomas Perez, and at least 10 Senators have responded to Speaker Boehner?s by saying that the issues raised are not impossible to overcome and that the House should pass the Senate?s bill or a similar resolution to bring relief to millions of Americans.
