Union activists bring ?don?t be evil? message to Google headquarters
A group of union activists marched on the Google headquarters Thursday in a demonstration to hold the company accountable for the working conditions of the security workers it contracts. Representatives from the Service Employees International Union claim that the security firm circumvents health insurance and sick day obligations by hiring most of its employees as part-timers. Google itself has a longstanding reputation for ethical labor practices. The group of about 100 protesters was denied their request to meet with the company?s CEO.
