Union forges a new alliance with carwash workers
Two car washes in Southern Los Angeles have agreed to collective bargaining agreements with their employees, who will be represented by the United Steelworkers. Under the agreements, wages will increase about 2%. These two car washes bring the total of known organized car washes up to three. The AFL-CIO has praised the coalition of labor and immigrant workers' groups that worked together to organize the workers, and said that these types of workplaces are the future of the labor movement.
