Union, Grocery Stores to Resume Talks
Negotiations between Southern California grocery stores and the union will resume on Monday with a federal mediator. The talks are part of an effort to avoid a strike by the workers, which was authorized on August 20. The grocery stores have called the strike vote a tactic, but the union says that the company offers for insurance and other items are not sustainable. Grocery workers have been working without a contract since March.
