Union Leader Is Accused of Extortion
Anthony Rumore, a former New York are Teamsters president, was charged Tuesday with extorting personal services from his fellow union members. The charges allege that Rumore forced union members to provide services big and smail for almost 15 years, from building a new roof on one of his properties to driving his daughter to her yoga class. Union members complied with his demands because they feared for their jobs. Rumore was released on bail after his indictment Tuesday.
