Union leaders are taking the DOE vaccine mandate to court
Mayor de Blasio’s vaccine mandate for all Department of Education workers is meeting pushback from unions. Unions representing 350,000 city workers plan to file an unfair labor practice complaint to stop Mayor de Blasio from implementing the vaccine mandate. Union leaders feel that the city does not have the legal authority to require vaccinations without bargaining. A City Hall spokesman said that the New York City Department of Health has the “clear legal authority.”
