Union leaders seek changes to health-care law
Leaders from several prominent, national labor unions have submitted a letter to Democratic leaders in Congress advocating for revisions to the new healthcare law. The letter expressed concern about union-sponsored healthcare plans, which are predicted to rise under the new law. Union officials fret that this price increase will lessen the appeal of unionized workers. The letter was co-written by representatives from the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, United Food and Commercial Workers, and Unite Here.
