Union Money Puts Huizar in Funding Lead in Contest to Succeed Villaraigosa on Council
In the latest case of labor organizations putting up large sums of money for California political candidates, unions have spent more than $124,000 in support of Los Angeles City Council candidate Jose Huizar in the last month. Huziar would take the seat vacated by current mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Unite Here has spent over $60,000 for Huizar's campaign; an arm of the SEIU has also contributed over $50,000.
